General Information

 

Adult Education is funded through the Texas Education Agency and authorized under Section 322 of the Education Act, and amended by Public Law 102-73. The Texas State Plan for Adult Education has been adopted and approved by the State Board of Education. Section 322 is designed to expand, improve and initate high quality Adult Education Programs. A critical use of funds is "the development of programs for adults who lack basic skills severly limiting the ability to have a positive effect on the literacy of their children." BISD is the Fiscal Agent for 14 school districts and other agencies, clients and participants.
