Waving Crossing Guard Gets A Surprise

Larry Payne is a crossing guard for students walking to and from school down Dowlen.

He starts his day at 7:45 and waves until 9:15, then again when school lets out until 4:30.

Payne says he waves rain or shine because he wants to bless others.

That's why Kristi Fuselier and the West Brook High School student council decided to suprise Payne on Wednesday.

The council made a banner that says "West Brook Loves Our Waver. They also gave him balloons and a $50 gift card to Pappadeaux's Restaurant.

The group stayed with Mr. Payne for the rest of his shift sharing his blessing, waving at everyone who passes by.
