Students Dissect Cigarettes to Understand the Dangers
Beaumont Independent School District is teaching its students to kick the habit, put up the lighters and say no to cigarettes.At West Brook High School, science students are dissecting cigarettes to see for themselves whats really inside that paper.
Teachers say after testing for chemicals, students will notice that the temperature from a burning cigarette can also be dangerous and cause cancer by elevating body temperature.
Teachers say if they can prevent just one student from smoking cigarettes, then they consider this lesson very successful.
