To ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff:

·         Students are not to be dropped off before 7:30 a.m. (supervision begins at 7:30 a.m.)Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:00. (School begins promptly at 8:10 a.m. and ends at 3:25p.m.) Please have students here on time and picked up on time.

·         Students who are not eating breakfast assemble in the auditorium, except Pre-K goes to D-7, Pre-K breakfast begins at 8:30

·         Students are to be dropped off and picked up in the front. Students are not to be dropped off in the back parking lot, parents must park and escort students into the building from the back parking lot (this is for the safety of the students)

·         Gates are locked at 8:45

·         All visitors must sign in with a driver’s license or Texas I.D.

·         Visitors must have a pass to enter classrooms

·         All employees must wear identification

·         Daily checks of campus and building entrances are done

·          All strangers are approached on campus

·         Regular verbal reminders are made to employees to report suspicious behavior

·         Drills and review of safety procedures are regularly done

·         Morning and afternoon monitors are assigned to front entrance, gates, sidewalks and halls

·         Students possess hall passes when leaving classrooms

·          Crossing guards are in place to safely cross students at the corners of Cleveland/Arthur (North entrance) and Cleveland/Taft (South entrance) , students are not to cross anywhere else due to safety

·         Bus and Van Pickup and Drop-off area is near the Auditorium gate on Arthur

·         Bullying is not tolerated

 ·         Primary Evacuation Routes are posted in each room by the door in a visible location.

 ·         Fire Extinguishers are located in the halls

 ·         Emergency Alert & Fire Alarm System is in place

 ·         Fire Drills are scheduled and held once per month with on-going safety/emergency staff inservices. 

·        Red Alert Communication signal is called in the event of national or local emergency (Threatening weather, etc.)
