  • WELCOME TO GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING

    Vision

The Beaumont Independent School District Guidance and Counseling Services Program is a program of excellence, known for high-quality support services with innovative and specialized programs that meet the academic, career, and personal-social needs of all students.

    Mission

The Beaumont Independent School District Guidance and Counseling Program's mission is to implement effective data-driven, student-focused, results-oriented and provide high quality, comprehensive school counseling services to all students.  The guidance program encourages students, staff, and the community to appreciate the contributions, rights, and responsibilities of themselves and others.  Through the skillful use of strategic, timely, and personal interventions, counselors customize educational experiences in order to enhance capabilities, close achievement gaps among high and low performing groups and support positive choices.  The Guidance and Counseling Program is focused on preparing students to become life long learners, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens who display good character—ready to contribute, compete and lead in today’s global society.

Beaumont ISD school counselors will follow the Texas Model of a Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program which supports the total development of our students in the areas of intelligence, personal, emotional and social needs. The Counseling team advocates for our students in the areas of diversity awareness, crisis intervention, acute/chronic and complex trauma, bullying/cyberbullying prevention, and college/career readiness.

The Counselors are the “pulse” to the beating hearts of our students.  We work collaboratively with, the administration, faculty/staff,  community organizations, and business partners to expose our students to real-life experiences and opportunities. Our students have the capacity to be creative and innovative in any career path they choose in the 21st century.  The guidance and counseling efforts are measured by the lives we help alter and enrich daily.

    Program Goals

    • To support the district’s strategic plan.
    • To increase student engagement and achievement.
    • To counsel students to fully develop their academic, career, personal, and sociability
