The BISD STEM Center is located at the Austin Innovation Center and we serve elementary and middle school students on a rotating schedule.

Our goal is to empower our scholars and the community through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Exactly, what is STEM?  STEM is the integration of  all four disciplines together into a single, cross-disciplinary program taught at the same time in order to provide opportunities for students to use these skills to solve real world problems. Here at the STEM Center, we strive to create a welcoming environment which promotes 21st century skills such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity and innovation for all. Therefore, the STEM Center will also host community STEM nights, Robotics competitions, and provide STEM opportunities on weekends and during the summer for our scholars.

The STEM Center provides a high quality hands-on space for learning basic science processes, coding platforms, robotics, 3D printing, drones and non-technological activities. By exposing our scholars to STEM and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related concepts; they will develop a passion for it and hopefully pursue a career in a STEM related field.  High quality exposure to STEM will allow our scholars to be globally marketable and competitive for the future workforce.
