Athletic Participation and Transfers

-- Students who are enrolled in any of the District's Alternative Education campuses (Brown, Pathways, JCYA) are not eligible to participate in any of the District's athletic programs.
-- A student who enrolls and initiates attendance in one BISD high school (A) and later moves to BISD high school (B), regardless of the reason, is ineligible to participate in varsity athletics for ONE full calendar year from the date of the in-district transfer or move to BISD high school B, even if the student has not previously participated at the varsity level.
-- A student who enrolls and initiates attendance in on BISD high school (A), then moves out of the district and later re-enrolls and initiates attendance at (another) BISD high school (B), is ineligible to participate in varsity athletics for ONE full calendar year of enrollment at BISD high school B, even if the student has not previously participated in varsity athletics.
-- Students who enroll in the District's Early College High School program (ECHS) are not eligible to participate in UIL activities in their home attendance zone school while enrolled at ECHS. Students who withdraw from ECHS to enroll at a BISD high school are ineligible to participate in varsity athletics for ONE full calendar year, even if the student has not previously participated at the varsity level.

Recruiting is not only a violation by the student who has been recruited, but it is also a violation by the school and/or the school district personnel who recruited the student. It is a violation to recruit at all grade levels.
