REPORTING DISCIPLINARY RECORDS
The Texas Education Data Standards includes information related to reporting discipline records to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). PEIMS discipline records must be reported for every disciplinary action that results in the removal of a student for any part of their academic program. Under TEC 37.008(m-1), failure to report all disciplinary removals and truancy actions as required by state and federal law may result in a review by the commissioner of education and notice to the local school board of any problems noted in the district’s data, or a violation of a law or other rule.
