Our History
We Are Beaumont ISD
The Beaumont Independent School District holds a cherished place in the hearts of Southeast Texas families, with a proud history of nurturing and educating children. Established in 1983 through the unification of the former Beaumont School District, founded in 1883, and South Park Public Schools, founded in 1891, BISD has weathered many highs and lows alongside the community it serves.
Through the years, one constant has been the unwavering dedication of the district’s students, staff, and community to persevere and look ahead with hope. Each challenge strengthens the collective resolve to build a brighter future. BISD remains deeply committed to preparing the next generation, driven by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and shine. The district looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence and compassion for years to come.
