Work-Based Learning
Work-Based Learning (WBL) is a continuum of intentional activities and experiences designed to expand the boundaries of the classroom and prepare students for future career opportunities.
Activities and experiences begin as early as pre-kindergarten and continue through postsecondary education.
Ways to Partner:
Classroom Support – Business & Industry Partners visit CTE classrooms and labs as a guest speaker, co-teach or provide industry level knowledge.
Field Experience – Business & Industry Partners provide students with an opportunity to see a day in the life of their industry; such as but not limited to field trips, job shadow days, worksite visits or other field-based experience.
Student Internship - Business & Industry Partners collaborate with The R.E.A.L. Program (Practicum and Career Preparation) to allow students regular paid or unpaid work experiences throughout the school year.
Teacher Externship - Business & Industry Partners provide an onsite learning experience for CTE teachers within a related Program of Study for continuing education.
