All Wrapped Up in Giving: BISD Toy Drive Brings Holiday Cheer to Beaumont Families

BISD employees pose with presents in front of a Christmas tree.

Beaumont ISD proved this holiday season that the best gifts don’t always come from a store shelf—they come from a spirit of service. Through its annual toy drive benefiting Some Other Place, students, staff and departments across the district came together to turn simple holiday tags into 242 thoughtfully chosen gifts, helping bring joy, comfort and Christmas cheer to children throughout the Beaumont community.

This year’s effort included contributions from campuses and departments districtwide. Participating schools included Beaumont United High School, the Career and Technical Education Center, Pietzsch-MacArthur PK-8 Center and Odom Academy, as well as Blanchette, Caldwood, Charlton-Pollard, Curtis, Dishman, Homer Drive, Martin and Regina-Howell Elementary Schools.

Several departments also took part, including Special Services, Child Nutrition and multiple offices housed at the district’s administration and annex buildings.

The donated toys were collected as part of Some Other Place’s Christmas Giving Tree, a seasonal outreach program that provides children with personalized gifts chosen from tags distributed throughout the community.

“The spirit of community giving is alive and well at the Some Other Place Christmas Giving Tree Program,” said Kaitlin McCarter, Special Projects Coordinator at Some Other Place. “We are so grateful for the continued support of BISD, who took a generous portion of our tags. With all the generosity, we will be able to give two presents a piece to well over 1200 children this year.”

Some Other Place serves Beaumont and the surrounding area by offering food assistance, emergency support and other essential services to families in need. The organization’s mission centers on providing practical help and heartfelt care during difficult times.

Beaumont ISD’s participation in the annual drive reflects the district’s ongoing effort to support community partners and promote service among students and staff.
