By casting the right blend of innovation and technology, several Beaumont ISD educators have worked a little classroom magic — earning recognition from Magic School, the district’s artificial intelligence partner, for enhancing instruction and student engagement. Each educator received a small gift in recognition of being among the district’s top Magic School users and Student Room creators.

Honorees included Brayla Lacy and Pearl Turner of Fehl-Price Elementary School, Ashley Vonner of Marshall Middle School, Ashlee Roberts and Mark Vinluan of King Collegiate Academy, and Carlo Moldes of Beaumont United High School. The educators were recognized for integrating AI-powered tools into their classrooms to support lesson planning, differentiation and real-time learning.

Teachers shared how Magic School has become an integral part of their instructional practices. Vonner said the platform has transformed how she reflects on and adjusts her teaching.

“MagicSchool, and especially Raina, has become an essential part of my instructional planning and reflection,” Vonner said. “I regularly use it to create targeted re-teach lessons, meaningful exit tickets, and reinforcement activities when I realize my instruction has missed the mark.”

Roberts said Magic School has enhanced student engagement in her Geometry classes by allowing students to interact with content in new ways.

“I've started using MagicSchool with my Geometry students as a supplement to our daily notes and lessons,” Roberts said. “The students really enjoy asking questions in real time and getting questions about examples that are different from what we discuss in class.”

District leaders say the recognition highlights BISD’s commitment to leveraging innovative technology to support teachers and improve student learning outcomes. Through partnerships like Magic School, the District continues to explore responsible and effective uses of artificial intelligence in education.
