Training Day Triumph: Beaumont United Aides Flex Their Skills for a Top Finish

BU Student Trainers pose with their advisors.

Beaumont United High School is celebrating student success beyond the classroom as its Student Athletic Training Aides earned top honors at the Greater Houston Athletic Trainers’ Society Student Trainer Workshop on March 21, 2026.

Accompanied by athletic trainers Danae Tuhn and Jacob Pfaff, the group competed in the Athletic Training Olympics and placed third out of 40 teams from across the region. The competition put students’ skills to the test with real-world scenarios, including injury evaluation, taping techniques, emergency response, and teamwork under pressure.

Their strong finish reflects more than just skill. It shows preparation, focus, and a real commitment to supporting student-athletes on and off the field.

The recognition comes during National Athletic Training Month, which highlights the important role athletic trainers play in keeping students safe, healthy, and ready to compete. Beaumont United’s student aides are already stepping into that role and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

In addition to the team’s success, senior Amariayna Hickerson was named a Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association All-Academic State recipient, recognizing her excellence in both academics and athletic training.

“We are incredibly proud of our student athletic training aides for competing at such a high level and representing Beaumont United with excellence,” said Beaumont United Athletic Trainer Jacob Pfaff. “This experience gave them the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in real time, build confidence, and see what’s possible in this field.” Junior Student Athletic Trainer Railyn Nobles went on to say, "I had a blast Saturday. I loved competing with the other 30 plus schools, and I loved bringing home 3rd place!"

As Beaumont ISD continues to celebrate National Athletic Training Month, the district proudly recognizes these student leaders for their dedication, growth, and impact behind the scenes.
