Curriculum and Instruction Services
Welcome to Curriculum and Instruction Services

The Beaumont Independent School District (BISD) is committed to ensuring alignment between the written, taught, and tested curriculum. This coordinated approach supports the District’s goals and objectives by striving to:
- Provide a viable and coherent curriculum for every content area
- Deliver ongoing training and support for high-impact, high-yield instructional practices
- Promote and sustain the use of high-quality assessments to inform teaching and learning
Written Curriculum
The written curriculum consists of curriculum guides, instructional resources, and lesson plans that outline what students are expected to learn. These materials are accessible online through the District’s portal and are designed to meet the diverse learning needs of all BISD students.
Taught Curriculum
BISD teachers deliver instruction using the District’s curriculum resources, state-mandated Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and the scope and sequence developed by curriculum writers and reviewed by fellow educators. This ensures consistent, high-quality instruction across all campuses.
Tested Curriculum
Assessments—including teacher-created tests, district-level assessments, and state assessments—are aligned with the written and taught curriculum. Teachers and administrators analyze assessment data to evaluate individual student achievement, identify trends across student groups, and make informed decisions to adjust curriculum and instruction as needed.
