Welcome from the Principal
Sallie Curtis Family,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at Curtis! It is such a pleasure to be back in BISD and I am very honored to serve as your principal. Allow me to extend my personal invitation to visit with me, with your child, and with your child’s teacher(s) as often as you desire. Parents are vital in the education of a child and thus, you are welcomed, invited, and expected as active participants in your child’s education. You serve as your child’s first teacher. When your sons and daughters come to school, our faculty and staff cannot succeed without your continued support. Parental support in the home is vital in developing your child to their full potential.
Please allow me to remind you of the following:
Parent Self Serve: Please enroll in parent self serve as soon as you are able. The self-serve system will allow you to check your child’s grades, attendance, and enable you to remain informed regarding your child’s progress during the year. On your computer, go towww.bmtisd.com, click on the “For Parents” tab, and then “parent self serve.” If you need assistance, do not hesitate to call us, we are here to help.
Attendance: Ensure you establish consistent bedtime routines so your child comes to school on time, rested, and ready to learn. When possible, please make appointments so they do not cause your child to miss school. Instructional time is valuable and we must work together to maximize every teaching moment.
Join PTA: I encourage every teacher, parent, grandparent, guardian, and stakeholder to join PTA. The organization is vital to the success of our school and they deserve the full extent of our active support.
Our school day is from 8:05-3:25 this year. Please ensure your child is on time each day. Like you, we strive each day to provide a superior education to ALL children. I appreciate your support and anticipate a tremendous year!
If I may be of assistance, please call or email me. My email address is email@example.com and phone is 409-617-6050. I look forward to serving you and the needs of your children.
