Ceremony Etiquette

Arrive Early
Graduation ceremonies will begin promptly at the designated time, so guests are advised to arrive early as traffic tends to increase closer to the start of the ceremony.

SILENCE YOUR CELL PHONE
Please ensure that your cell phone is switched to silent mode or turned off before the ceremony begins. During the ceremony, please avoid speaking on your phone or having loud conversations as it may disrupt the enjoyment of others and prevent them from hearing the ceremony. It is requested that you remain silent while all presenters are speaking, particularly during the Valedictorian and Salutatorian addresses. We appreciate your cooperation and respect towards others.

CELEBRATE RESPECTFULLY
It's important to be mindful of others when celebrating your graduate's achievement. The ceremony usually moves quickly, so it's best not to cheer loudly or for too long when your graduate's name is called. This will give other families a chance to hear their graduate's name, too. Please note that noise-making devices like air horns are not allowed at the ceremony. Guests who use these items will be asked to leave.

REMAIN SEATED
As a courtesy and out of respect for all graduates, both graduates and guests are expected to stay for the entire duration of the ceremony. Be mindful of those behind you and refrain from blocking their view. If you wish to take pictures during the ceremony, please find a spot where you can do so without obstructing anyone else's view.
Important Information For Graduates
Graduation Ceremony Expectations
Graduation is a formal celebration honoring the achievements of the Class of 2026. To ensure every graduate is recognized with dignity and the ceremony runs smoothly, all students are expected to walk calmly across the stage when receiving their diplomas. Dancing, gestures, pauses, or other celebratory actions are not permitted. Graduates who fail to meet these expectations may be excluded from the ceremony and will receive their diplomas at a later time.
Thank you for helping the Beaumont Independent School District provide a respectful and memorable commencement experience for all families and graduates.
