n order to minimize disruption to established cohorts and participation in co- and/or extracurricular programs, students enrolled at Beaumont United or West Brook in 9^th, 10^th, 11^th grade at the close of the 2024-2025 school year shall receive a ‘grandfathering exception’ to allow them to complete their education through graduation in their existing high school campus of origin, even if the boundary shift places them outside the school’s new attendance zone. However, students not actually zoned to the high school campus of origin, would not be eligible for transportation.

Rezoned high school students will receive a form in Spring 2025 to confirm their decision. Completed forms must be submitted by the deadline.

If the residence of an established high school student falls within a new attendance zone, the student may choose to enroll in the high school that serves the new attendance area. The parent/legal guardian is required to submit proper residency documentation in accordance with district guidelines corresponding to the respective attendance zone to process the enrollment in the new school. Students who choose to enroll in a different high school other than the grandfathered school, are not allowed to return to re-enroll in the high school of origin under the grandfathering exception.

• Elementary, Middle School and rising 9th grade Siblings: Must attend their newly zoned campus.

• High School Siblings (9th, 10th or 11th grade students at the close of the 2024-2025 school year): Can choose individually to stay at their current school or attend their newly zoned campus.

The plan minimizes travel times and optimizes bus routes. Students that were rezoned from Beaumont United to West Brook that wish to continue their high school education at Beaumont United via the “grandfathering exception,” will be eligible for transportation until the conclusion of the 2027-2028 school year.

Students who do not reside in an attendance zone that was impacted by a change in high school attendance boundaries that opt to exercise their “grandfathering exception", are not eligible for general education transportation services for attendance at a campus outside his or her attendance boundary.

The Beaumont ISD Rezoning Plan was approved by the Board of Trustees on December 17, 2024, after a thorough and comprehensive process that included careful consideration of community input, enrollment data, and the district's long-term goals. We understand that rezoning decisions can be difficult and may not align with everyone's preferences. However, this plan is final and will go into effect in August 2025.
