Section C - Grading Rubric

  • The rubric below applies to all BISD campuses except Taylor Career Center, Early College High School, Paul Brown, Fehl-Price, Jones-Clark, and Smith, which will publish separate grading guidelines due to the unique nature of the campus curriculum and operating partners. AP courses will be graded in accordance with guidelines published by the C&I Department.

    Paper Packet Learner

    Despite multiple attempts to contact parent/student, student submitted no materials.

    Despite teacher contact and support, the student completed minimal work in the packet with low engagement in the learning process.

    The student partially completed the packet and demonstrated occasional engagement in the learning process.

    The student made significant progress on the packet with frequent engagement in the learning process. 


    Online Learner



    Despite multiple attempts to contact parent/student, student submitted no materials.

    Despite teacher contact and support, the student made minimal attempts to log in or made little effort to complete assignments and engage in the learning process.

    The student completed some online program work and/or the student worked between 1 – 3 hours on each core content program each week and demonstrated occasional engagement in the learning process. 

    The student completed all online work and/or worked for more than 3 hours in each content area program each week with frequent engagement in the learning process.
