Students Participate in the JASON Project
BISD 5th grade students participated in the JASON Project at Lamar University on Jan 20. The science, technology, engineering and mathematics based program engages students in activities meant to be both fun and educational to cultivate their interest in the STEM fields.
Named for the mythological Greek explorer, the JASON Project was founded in 1989 by Robert D. Ballard, the oceanographer and explorer who discovered the shipwreck of RMS Titanic.
After receiving an overwhelming amount of support and interest from students all over the world, Ballard designed a STEM-based program to help educate students about the world.
