The Rotary Club of Beaumont chose Ozen students, Brittanie Cockrell and Jonathan Lawson as counselors to attend the Rotary Youth Leaders Academy (RYLA) held recently in Woodlake, Texas. Students from Central HS and West Brook HS also attended.
The Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) is an intensive training program for community youth leaders. Young people chosen for their leadership potential attend an all-expenses-paid seminar, camp or workshop to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice.
This is a tremendous honor given that approximately 300 students from the Rotary District attended.
