If you stop by Charlton-Pollard on a Wednesday this winter, you may be surprised with the teacher’s attire. Are they getting ready to work out all day long?  Three years ago, Principal Wayne Wells encouraged his staff to wear warm ups on Wednesdays.  “We started this incentive to encourage participation with motivating students and staff to Warm Up to STAAR Testing,” Wells explained.  “It is something that is really big for our campus. We start in December and continue through the end of March on each Wednesday”

For the upcoming STAAR Testing, Charlton-Pollard is also doing STAAR Wars Battle. “Students and staff will have a day when they will be able to dress up as their favorite character from Star Wars,” Wells said.  “We will use our campus-wide strategies and 12 Powerful Words during this time and we will incorporate them into our current theme.”
