Curtis Students Win Bikes for Reading and Attending Class
Curtis Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) held their end of the year Accelerated Reader (AR) party on May 20, 2016. Students enjoyed a water gun maze and water balloons, along with a snow cones.
Accelerated Reader is a progress monitoring software which offers reading practice. Students had until May 20, 2016 to reach their grade level end of the year goals to attend the party. The goals were:
Kinder - 30 points
1st grade - 60 points
2nd grade - 80 points
3rd-5th grade - 100 points
Eric Thomas with Supportive. Leaders. Administering. Motivation. (S.L.A.M.) donated six bikes for the top readers from each grade level. Congratulations to the following students:

In addition, on June 2, 2016, the campus held a drawing for perfect attendance. One boy and one girl received a bike. Congratulations to Bryden Gray, 3rd grade, and Iyana Morgan, 4th grade, who were the winners of the drawing.
