The National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security was held September 24-October 2, 2016.  High school students from around the country spent six days in Washington, DC for an opportunity to learn how America monitors potential threats, prepares for crisis, and plans for peace.

West Brook Junior Ty Fuselier (pictured second from right) was the only student from BISD that attended.  “Ty was nominated for the The National Youth Leadership Forum because of his innate ability to lead.  He is a natural born leader, in my opinion, and people gravitate to his personality and follow him,” said Student Activities Director Tisha Smith.  “He is now serving on Student Council for his third consecutive year and in his second year as an Executive Board member.”

The forum puts students on the path to a future in diplomacy, intelligence, and defense.
