South Park Presentation on Smoking
South Park Middle School students were invited to listen to a short presentation on the harms of smoking November 11, 2016. “We had a combined total of 100 students, parents, teachers and siblings,” said South Park Parent Facilitator Amanda Young. “UT Physicians, a new facility in the area that offers medical services to families in the Beaumont area were the presenters. They talked to students about what smoking does to your family, body, cost of cigarettes, and electronic cigarettes. UT Physicians provided students with water bottles, pens, pads, lunch kits, and pencils. Pizza was served and a free dress pass was given to students who attended; if a student brought their parents, they received two free dress passes.
