Vincent Students Make Donation to Gift of Life

Members of the Student Council of Vincent Middle School have been organizing different events as part of their commitment to help the Gift of Life.  Students hosted various events to raise funds. Student Council sponsor Ms. Rogers mentioned that students have been working hard on several fundraisers, “they have been working three or four times per week after school.” Students collected $1,512 for the Gift of Life. “This is the biggest contribution students have made,” said Principal Dr. Lydia Bahnsen. “Students are eager to participate in these kinds of events and I am very proud of how they chose to spend their time in these civic activities that broaden their education beyond the classroom,” said Bahnsen.

A ceremony was held on Thursday November 17, 2016 at Vincent Middle School where members of the student council, cheerleaders, sponsors, and Dr. Bahnsen presented their contribution to Gift of Life representative, Community Relations Coordinator Connie Berry , who expressed her gratitude to the students saying, “I am so impressed with all the students have done; it has been wonderful seeing how future leaders of tomorrow contribute to this charity. Every penny of this donation will remain in Southeast Texas. Funds will be here for women that are in need of being diagnosed by offering them free mammograms.”
