BISD Students Excel at Competition

The Region 5 Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) held its annual  Conference and competition Friday, December 2, at Lamar State College-Orange. Several students from Taylor Career Center participated in the competition and brought home top honors. These winners will advance to the state competition

in Arlington, to be held in February. Students advancing to state are:

• Areeale Allen, Ironesha Hadnot, D' Owens, and D'Mya Johnson -

Ethical Dilemma - 2nd place

• Leslie Ramos - Education Leadership Fundamentals Exam -

Bronze Award

• Brookelynn Gilliam - Portfolio - Gold Performance

• Griselda Martinez - Lesson Planning and Delivery: Arts - 1st place

• Mariela Maquez - Lesson Planning and Delivery: STEM - 2nd

place

• Ariana Castillo - Lesson Planning and Delivery: STEM - 1st place

 

Several students from Ozen High School participated as well.  All 13 TAFE students advanced to state competition.

Ozen High School sent thirteen students to the competition and all advance to the 2017 TAFE Teach Tomorrow Summit in Arlington February 17-19, 2017.
