BISD Police Chief Invited to Youth Engagement Institute

BISD Police Chief Rob Flores will be one of 30 participants in the Institute for Police and Youth Engagement conference July 18-20 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The conference is sponsored by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Coalition for Juvenile Justice and participants' airfare, lodging and training are all paid for through a grant through the Department of Justice.

Police executives are invited to apply to participate in this three-day training Institute designed to immerse law enforcement leaders in best practices and innovative approaches on how to improve interactions between youth and law enforcement while effectively contributing to juvenile justice reform.

"I am excited to be representing BISD in this training and look forward to bringing the information back to our District to implement initiatives that our officers can use to positively affect the lives of our students," said Flores.
