Central Track Students Compete at State Meet

Central Medical Magnet High School athletes participated in the state track meet in Austin May 11-12. Seniors Deshon Moreaux, Patrick Thomas, Calen Ragsdale, Devin Broussard, Vance Valliar, Howard Hunter brought home a 3rd place victory in the 4x200 meter relay. "At one point in the season, both the 4x1 and the 4x2 relays were ranked in the nation,” said Central Head Track Coach Stevie Moore. “The proudest moment is when they won their 4th straight District championship. For the seniors, they have not lost a District track meet.” They also won the Overall Team Championship at the Prairie View A&M relays. They qualified for Texas Relays in all 4 relays, as well as Senior Reggie Boseman in shot put. At the regional meet, the Central athletes came in third place in the 4x2 relay. “They ran a 1:25.52 which allowed us the opportunity to compete at State,” said Moore. Boseman won 7th place in the boys shot put. He had finished second in the regional boys shot put with a throw of 52' 11".”
