Amelia Hosts Freedom Color Run

Color was in the air at Amelia Elementary as the PTA hosted their first ever Freedom Color Run on March 23. Over 100 students, parents, teachers and Beaumont police officers participated to raise money for the Cops & Kids Program. Participants wore red, white and blue patriotic-themed gear and were doused from head to toe in different colors as they ran several times around the track.

“The event was to honor our first responders and veterans. To participate, students collected pledges and raised money to support the school,” explained Amelia PTA President Elsa Holton. “The Amelia PTA is committed to teaching our students about the importance of giving back to our community. This event allowed us to do that by raising $2000 for the Beaumont Police Department Cops & Kids Program.”
