West Brook Key Club named #1 in Texas

The West Brook High School Key Club was recently named the #1 Key Club in the Texas-Oklahoma Key Club District at the Key Club Convention in Dallas. Out of approximately 300 chartered Key Clubs, West Brook received the 1st place trophy. “It’s exciting for our club to have the ‘traveling cup’ for the second year,” said club sponsor Lori Abel.

The theme of the convention was ‘Superheroes Serving their School and Community’. West Brook won 1st place by entering the theme contest, where they created their own superhero action figure and story.

For the video contest, clubs present a creative and original video that could be used throughout the year to promote Key Club. West Brook won 2nd place.

The non-digital club poster contest rewards the club which presents the most creative and original promotional poster. Senior Britney Tang won 1st place for her poster and advanced to the International Convention, which will be held in July in Chicago.

At the convention, Seniors Britney Tang and Alyssa Tran each received a $1,000 scholarship and Junior Leila Abel received a plaque for being the Outstanding Texas-Oklahoma Treasurer. West Brook was also recognized as a Diamond Level Distinguished Club and will receive a plaque at the International Convention.
