Serve Day Volunteers Assist Guess and Homer

Praise Church of Beaumont volunteers provided landscaping and a fresh coat of paint at Guess and Homer Drive Elementary Schools as part of Serve Day on October 23, 2021.

“Serve Day provides churches across the world with opportunities to serve their local communities and share the love of God through practical acts of kindness,” said Praise Church Lead Pastor Reg Lloyd.

Praise Church of Beaumont, a Guess and Homer Drive business partner, reached out to ask about needs ahead of the event. Homer Drive requested fresh paint to the posts outside the school entrances and Guess needed landscaping for their garden in front of the campus.

“There seems to be something inside us all that wants to make a difference,” said Lloyd. “And when we give of ourselves to help someone else, we walk away filled. That’s why we say at Praise Church, ’serving is not just good, but right.’”

Lloyd was a part of a small group that volunteered at Homer Drive. “Being able to paint the posts at Homer was a great way to give back to our community,” said Lloyd. “We hope that it brought smiles when the kids and staff arrived on Monday morning.”
