Fall in Love with Reading During November Read-A-Thon
Are you ready to "fall” in love with reading? Beaumont ISD is holding a Fall Read-A-Thon for all students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
“In order to participate, students must commit to reading at least 20 minutes at school and 20 minutes at home each day in November, then take and pass the Accelerated Reader quiz over your book once they have completed it,” said Jenny Angelo, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “We also ask them to try to accumulate as many AR points as they can before November 30.”
Random drawings will be held throughout November from those students who have participated in the read-a-thon. Prizes include free books, gift cards, STEM kits and more.
“At the end of the read-a-thon, we will calculate everyone's progress and award top readers on campus certificates and prizes,” said Angelo. “The top-performing campuses will receive recognition banners to display. We can’t wait to celebrate our winners!”

Parents and students can also visit the BISD Annex, located off Concord Road next to Smith Middle School, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., throughout November to select a free book from the book table.
