Bruins Can’t Mask Their Homecoming Spirit
West Brook High School is safely celebrating homecoming week with activities as they prepare to face off against Humble.
A block party with food trucks and booster clubs selling t-shirts, masks, spirit towels and more kicked off the week. Homecoming princesses riding first class in Corvettes were joined by the STARS dance team, cheerleaders, football players and other organizations in a parade to Durley Stadium for a pep rally.
"I was extremely pleased with the parade, pep rally and block party. We had a great turn out for 'Can't Mask Our Bruin Spirit,’" said Student Activities Director Tisha Smith. "It brought some normalcy to our Bruins."
The week also included dress-up days for in-person and virtual students with themes such as backward clothing, crazy hair and school colors. Curtis Elementary and Marshall Middle School supported the Bruins as well with dress-up days, including red out, tie-dye, Disney and camouflage.
"We look forward to bringing more events for students and the Bruin community and are already brainstorming on another grand idea for the spring," said Smith.
The homecoming game will be on November 6, 2020, at 7 p.m. at BISD Memorial Stadium. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at 6:30 p.m. during pre-game activities. Beaumont United High School will host Homecoming in January 2021.
