Students and parents at Homer, Martin and Regina-Howell Elementary Schools have an opportunity to have their voices heard in helping to ‘Build a Better BISD.’
The Beaumont ISD Department of Innovation is inviting members of each campus to participate in Vision Week running now through Saturday, February 27, 2021, via a survey by texting “VisionBISD” to 844-539-1406.
“We are looking for your opinion on building an even better BISD,” stated BISD Chief Innovation Officer Anetra Cheatham. “Our goal is to create a campus system that speaks directly to the needs of our community and its desires for our students.”
Feedback from students and parents will be utilized as the District works to design campuses that improve the quality of education for our students as part of the System of Great Schools (SGS) Strategy.
The SGS strategy for system-wide reform supports districts to develop a locally designed system-level innovation and problem-solving approach with the goal of:
Increasing the number and percentage of students in top-rated schools and reducing the number and percentage of students in low-rated schools.
Districts that pursue the SGS strategy will design and implement a continuous improvement process that annually evaluates school quality, parent demand and neighborhood needs to take strategic action to both improve schools and provide parents with the schools and programs they desire.
