Leonard, Lewis and Eckenrod Named 40 Under 40 Honorees
The Southeast Texas Young Professionals Organization announced three Beaumont ISD team members at 2021 40 Under 40 honorees.
Stacey Lewis, Jr. currently serves as the secretary of the Beaumont ISD Board and has been seated since May 2021.
“As an achievement for myself the 40 under 40 award recognition, is great but I hope that me being honored and recognized will be an inspiration to all of our Beaumont ISD scholars,” said Lewis. “I was educated in the same Beaumont ISD schools and grew up in an economically disadvantaged area like many of our own. Our upbringing and environmental factors should not dictate our abilities to achieve what we wish to do in life.”
Shonte’ Leonard has served as an educator in the district for 13 years, in roles including the dual credit facilitator and journalism instructor.
“Being bestowed with this honor humbles me because I absolutely love the path I have been chosen to walk. To get honored for doing things I love, for the people I want to make a true difference in the lives of, is beyond words,” said Leonard. “I feel honored and grateful because I am continually molded by youthfulness, fresh ideas, and an unstoppable motivation of innocence who aren't stifled by circumstance and situations. For the remainder of my life, I will ‘Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.’ -Maya Angelou”
Tiffany Eckenrod has been serving as the Child Nutrition Director for four years.
“I am humbled to be recognized in my community among so many great leaders. Providing nutritious meals to the nearly 17,000 students of BISD every day is a reward in itself, but to be acknowledged for my work is such an honor. I want to additionally thank my Child Nutrition team for their hard work and constant support, for I share this honor with each of them.”
To be eligible for the recognition, individuals nominated must work in Jefferson, Orange or Hardin County and be 39 years old or younger. The 40 Under 40 honorees were formally celebrated at “The Big Reveal” ceremony.
