BISD and the City of Beaumont Team Up for Something Beautiful

On Friday, November 3, 2023, schools throughout the district joined the City of Beaumont, with everyone rolling up their sleeves to participate in the second "Beautify Beaumont" cleanup event. This collaborative initiative aims to bring together students, city residents, community leaders, and local officials to improve the appearance and cleanliness of Beaumont as a part of the larger “Keep Texas Beautiful” program. The morning event was a remarkable display of community partnership that showcased the power of collective action toward a common goal.

Before the early campus dismissals, various student organizations from elementary, middle, and high schools, including student councils, cheerleaders, basketball teams, National Honor Societies, and Green Clubs, picked up litter around their respective campuses. They were joined by Beaumont Mayor Roy West, city council members, and volunteers from ExxonMobil. The initiative aimed not only to create a cleaner neighborhood but also to raise awareness about the harmful effects of littering. Students were also encouraged to participate in the "Beautify Beaumont" campaign poster contest that was held at each campus.

This partnership between BISD and the City of Beaumont is a reflection of their shared commitment to creating an attractive and welcoming living environment. Additionally, it offered students a hands-on opportunity to engage in community service and take on the role of environmental stewards, instilling important values about civic responsibility that will stay with them throughout their lives.
