Texas Mobile STEM Lab Sparks Excitement at Charlton-Pollard Elementary School

Thanks to Principal Ariane Moore, the Bulldogs had a chance to host the Texas Mobile STEM Lab at Charlton-Pollard Elementary for one adventure-filled week. The mobile labs, which are sponsored by Learning Undefeated, offered a blend of career and skills education, flexible in-classroom resources, and engaging hands-on experiences from Monday, November 13, until Thursday, November 16, 2023.

In April 2023, the application window for a grant to request a visit from Texas Mobile STEM Labs was opened. Principal Moore wasted no time and submitted the application immediately. Moore said, "I wanted to provide our students with another hands-on opportunity for STEM activities. Students love the experience." Learning Undefeated offers week-long mobile laboratory visits for Texas schools in all education regions and serves students in grades K-8. Charlton-Pollard was the only campus in the district that was granted this amazing opportunity for the lab to visit their school.

The interactive learning spaces, built from modified shipping containers, were created to engage 2nd-5th grade students in a spectrum of STEM-related activities, from captivating experiments to cutting-edge technological explorations. The Texas Mobile STEM Lab’s visit to Charlton-Pollard Elementary School served not only as a week-long event but as a catalyst for sustained interest in STEM.
