Beaumont Mural Festival 2024: BISD Collaborates with CVB for Unprecedented Art Education
Amid the flurry of mural painting and creative endeavors slated for the Beaumont Mural Festival weekend, Beaumont ISD is playing an integral role in the activities this year. On Friday, March 1, 2024, middle school students from BISD immersed themselves in a day of artistic exploration across various locations in the city of Beaumont.
Students engaged in festivities hosted at The Event Centre, The Art Museum of SETX, The Energy Museum, and the Children's Museum. The highlight of their participation lies in the opportunity to contribute to the festival's colorful mosaic by painting two sizable cubes—one stationed at The Event Centre and the other at The Art Museum of SETX.
The involvement doesn't end there. High school students from Beaumont United, West Brook High School, and Early College High School will also have their chance to leave their mark on the event. Three cubes, each measuring 8 feet by 8 feet, will be delivered to those schools, providing students with a platform to unleash their creativity and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of community art.
"BISD is excited to partner with the Beaumont CVB on this year's Mural Fest. Our art students will get an experience unlike any other, working side by side with professional artists to learn both the practical and creative sides of visual art techniques," said Beaumont ISD’s Director of Fine Arts, Michael Murdoch.
The Beaumont Mural Festival will be held March 2-3, 2024, at The Event Centre in downtown Beaumont. Local and visiting artists will paint the town with their talents to build on the art scene in the area. In addition to the art, there will be FREE festivities for the whole community, from artisan pop-up galleries and free craft projects, to live music, entertainment, food trucks, and vendors, for a city-wide celebration at The Event Centre.
