Going Out on Top

With highly successful high school careers now behind them, Beaumont ISD Class of 2024 valedictorians and salutatorians are looking ahead to the same triumphs in college.

Beaumont Early College High School valedictorian Emily Gonzalez will begin her pursuit of a business degree at Lamar University-Beaumont this fall. Salutatorian Katherine Zubiaur will begin her quest to help people with mental health disorders by earning a degree in psychology at the University of Texas at Austin.

Beaumont United valedictorian Brady Redding plans to obtain a degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin and then attend law school. His goal is to become an attorney specializing in public interest litigation. Salutatorian Alfredo Morales Martinez will be attending Lamar University-Beaumont, majoring in chemical engineering.

Rice University is the destination of West Brook valedictorian Jason Norman. There, he will major in pre-law. Salutatorian Emily Xu is also headed to Rice to study business.

These students will join classmates Saturday, May 18, 2024, in graduation ceremonies at Doggett Ford Park. Graduation for Beaumont Early College High School begins at 9 a.m. Beaumont United’s ceremony begins at noon. West Brook’s commencement will take place at 4 p.m.
