18+ Students Awarded for Community Service

Five students in the Beaumont ISD 18+ Adult Transition program received the Bronze Presidential Award for Community Service at the 2019 Southeast Texas Food Bank Volunteer Appreciation Banquet. The program as a whole won first place in the civic category for volunteer hours and was presented with a large plate indicating their community service to southeast Texas.

Congratulations to winners Austin Chance, Austin Le, Dante Joseph, LaShawn Holman and Imoni Stokes, along with teacher Ruby McMahon Harvey and paraprofessional Kenneth Perrault, for an achievement that few achieve across the nation at state food banks.

“I am very proud of their dedication and maturity and am blessed to work with these students,” said Transition Specialist Cindy Barnes M.Ed.
