BISD PD Teams up with DEA for a Drug-Free District
Chief Joseph Malbrough and BISD Police Department partnered with the local Drug Enforcement Agency to hold a presentation for Homer Drive students on the importance of remaining drug free.
“It is important for us to teach about the dangers of drug use, even at a young age,” said Malbrough. “We want to equip them with the knowledge and encourage them to report to an adult, guardian or teacher if anyone tries to get them to take anything that they believe could be some type of drug.”
Students learned about the harmful impact of drugs to our society, the forms of drug use and were warned about what could happen if they are offered drugs. At the end of the presentation, students were able to interact with police K-9 Officer Bleu and learn about how he protects them.
“We had an awesome time with our students and look forward to many more opportunities to share, educate and fellowship with them,” said Malbrough. “This will help to build a long lasting partnership and professional relationship to better our schools and community.”
