Families at Curtis Elementary brought their blankets, dinner and some good books to read for the annual literacy night.
“This year we chose to host it ‘picnic style’ by inviting parents to bring their own food and blanket while reading books with their kids,” said teacher James Rodriguez.
Chrome books were supplied for reading and for students to show their parents how they use them to take AR tests. Five $20 gift certificates were raffled off for the Curtis Book Fair, along with new books. Students also had the opportunity to climb aboard the ROAR Reading Express which made a stop at the campus.
“It was a great event with families enjoying themselves and spending quality reading time together,” said Rodriguez.
