The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) held the annual Very Special Arts Day for BISD’s artists with special needs.
The event is centered around creative work stations where students can get their face painted, use markers to design a bag, build a clay bowl, make leaf impressions and more. AMSET employees and BISD teachers teamed up to facilitate and help guide students through each area.
While the students are engaged, parents are provided dinner and participate in training which provides information and resources available for kids with special needs in the community.
“This is our second year working together and it keeps getting bigger,” said AFL Specialist Jamie Price.
