Students Connect to their Future at Career Expo

High school students connected with future opportunities at the 2020 Youth Career Expo at Ford Park. Area businesses discussed employment and career paths within their organizations and provided real-world work experiences with interactive activities such as virtual welding booths and electrical power demonstrations.

“The expo was very informative. I was able to walk around and see many different businesses,” said Early College junior Jason Johnson. “I really enjoyed being able to explore different fields that I’m interested in like engineering and computers.”

Students from Paul Brown Learning Center, Beaumont United, Early College and West Brook High Schools learned about the skills and educational requirements of some of the high-wage and high-demand jobs in southeast Texas. The event was part of the “Salute to Southeast Texas Workforce Week'' which included job seeking opportunities with Beaumont ISD, Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas and ExxonMobil.
