BISD Returns to Local Control
At the regularly scheduled Beaumont ISD Board Meeting on February 20, 2020, the District transitioned out of a board of managers to one of trustees. New trustees Kevin Reece and Robert Dunn were sworn in and seated, while Manager Angela Bransford completed her tenure.
“The District’s transition from a board of managers appointed by the state to a full locally elected board of trustees is a true accomplishment and signifies the tremendous hard work that our staff and board have demonstrated,” said Superintendent Dr. Shannon Allen.
Darrell Antwine was also seated in the vacant District One position.
“TEA’s faith in this transition speaks volumes for the work that has been done over the last several years,” said Allen. “The District has come a long way and this will mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter. On behalf of the District, I would like to thank all of our former managers for their service to our board and recognize the lengths we have made due to their commitment to the success of our students.”
