More About MOORE!- Meet our New Principal

WHERE LEGENDS ARE MADE! Home to over 1,100 MIGHTY Cougars, Pietzsch-MacArthur PK-8 Center is located in the heart of the Beaumont South Park Community. With 25 years of serving the students in the area, Pietzsch-MacArthur is extremely proud to welcome Ms.Ariane Moore to our campus this school year in conjunction with celebrating this milestone in our journey.  Ms.Moore has been a part of the Beaumont Independent School District family for numerous years and is overjoyed to join our community to serve and prepare the next generation.

We had the chance to catch up with Ms.Moore and ask her a few interesting questions to learn more about her history in education, what serves as her inspiration, and the plans she has to take Pietzsch-MacArthur to the next level. Check out her awesome answers below!

Question: What inspired you to pursue a career in education and ultimately become a principal?

Answer: I knew I wanted to be a teacher since the age of 7.  When I started teaching I had a wonderful principal named Ava Colbert at Homer Drive Elementary.  I loved teaching but would admire that if I become a principal instead of making in the lives of children just in my classroom, I could make a difference in the lives of all students at the campus just like Mrs. Colbert did.  So that inspired me to return to college and get my master's!

Question: If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?

Answer: I would love to sit and have dinner with Dr. Martin Luther King.  I would love to share with him how the world is today and hear his advice on how he stayed so dedicated and passionate about his beliefs through all the circumstances he had to endure.

Question: What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever traveled to, and what did you love about it?

Answer: Well, I work A WHOLE LOT! Don't laugh..but I have only been on an airplane once.  I have only been out of the country once. LOL!  So, I will say that the place I went on my first airplane trip was the most interesting....Mexico!  It's beautiful there.  I stayed at a resort and both the resort and the beach were beautiful!

Question: Do you have a favorite book or movie that has influenced your leadership style?

Answer: Now, I will have to research that. I will respond within 48 hours, but don’t hold me to it!

Question: What hobby or activity do you enjoy most outside of work?

Answer: I love live performances like concerts, comedy shows, and plays.  I also love to be the PASSENGER and go for rides to places where you can sit by the water, like Kemah!

Question: If you weren’t in education, what other career might you have pursued?

Answer: Honestly, I don't know.  This has been my life for 20 years. I love what I do.

Question: Can you share a memorable or funny moment from your time as a teacher or principal?

Answer: DOGS! Anything dealing with a dog hanging around the school and having to get out of my car or go outside is a funny moment.  I am terrified of dogs.  Small or big dogs...I am terrified!

Question: What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

Answer:  I did not attend kindergarten. I had separation anxiety from my mother and I cried all day in kindergarten.  She eventually took me out of school and home-schooled me at home for my kindergarten year.

Question: Do you have a favorite quote or motto that you live by?

Answer:  " I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Question: If you could implement one new program or initiative at our school, what would it be and why?

Answer: A program to prepare my middle school students for experiences that they will have when they become job interviews, having a bank account, and buying a house. Real-world experiences are a big deal for me, and I plan to implement just that.

A special message I would like to send our MIGHTY Cougars over the summer is that I am so excited to meet you and develop memories to last a lifetime. I am dedicated to your educational success, your emotional well-being, and anything else you can think of! Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten! We are the COUGAR OHANA! I love you and see you soon!
